Too bad about the Norma, that’s pretty crazy stuff. Good thing you brought along a reliable Pantera and a passionate crew.
Whenever I encountered strongly banked track corners, I needed a plastic rub pad under the seats to take the heavy impact crunch out of the too soft spring rates I would normally run on a road course. What made it worse for me was my dropped floor pans also hanging low, I would hit pretty upsettingly hard between steel and pavement and You?

Guys,
We have put Asa Jay to work, and we are having a great time.
FYI we are not running an oval -- we are running a road course that uses the oval. So it still needs to turn. And, remember -- this is an FIA "1972-spec" Group 3 car with limited changes. We build the car so that we could run in a FIA-pre 12/31/72 group because we complied with the December 1972 FIA Group 3 rules (e.g., six attachment points for the cage, stock shocks, stock sway bars (we cheated a bit by putting the GTS swaybars on)). Unless we want to build a car that runs in the Group 4, Goup 5, Exhibition or Post-73 classes, we pretty much are racing what they sold the customers in 72 as a Group 3 car. Our goal is to finish and show people that a nearly stock Pantera can not only look great, but also do pretty well in a race and then run for beer. We have enough fully built race cars, this one is our piece of art on wheels. :)
For those that many be interested in more information:
Here are the HSR Classic Endurance classes -- we are Group A:

I have not found live TV -- here is the live timing:

Here is the schedule:

We already lost the Norma Prototype -- the first session cracked the roll hoop behind the driver. After some research, we are finding that many of the older tube frame prototypes have stopped running this race because they are so stiff and the incredible down force and other stresses are cracking their frames. We don't want to strip the whole car here to see where else it may be cracked -- so we are done with that car and our weekend is now in the hands of the Pantera.
Asa Jay will keep you all posted!!
And, as always - thanks for all your support over the years -- and keep it coming.
Regards,
Steven G. Lisa, Esq.

I am here “learning” and not giving any advice. Steve’s son Tony is awesome at this stuff. He’s making all the measurements and calculating the changes. I’m just wrenching when I can. 😁

Having them and knowing how to use them can be an art form.
Got to learn weight jacking with the fuel tank and driver leaning on the left rear leaving the right front light, and your going left at Daytona which is also working against you. Look at how they construct a Modified oval racer, or NASCAR builds a totally different chassis for left handed ovals. You have your work cut out for you, maybe try 800 pound RH springs and 600 pound LH springs and see how that feels.
Sometimes weight jacking becomes a little more obvious to make the Pantera work, like in the photo attached
