caster is like anything else. Some is great, too much, not so great. I think 7 degrees is pretty aggressive for a non-power steering car and might not be as much fun around town as it is at 180 MPH.

Dear Mark,
I am sure that Johnny’s modified A arms are solid and well done. Are you using any other methods to increase positive caster? What is the current positive caster?
Curious, Chuck Engles

Dear Dennis,
How much positive caster do you have now? I am keen to know if you will perceive a difference and improvement.
I would note that our friend Tom Upton was running positive 5-7 degrees and he noted another bit of improvement with the SACC electric power steering unit. If Tom recommends power steering with big positive castor, then it might be a consideration.
Warmest regards, Chuck Engles

I think the Pantera may want up to 6-9 degrees of front caster.
Here are the A-Arm Sectioning and spacer photo’s I have you can work with.
Do you have ASA’s Address handy?

For the first time since the 1980s, when F1 cars resembled upside-down airplanes, ground effects are utilized in the aero regulations for the new car. Its floor has two large channels running front-to-back. Air travels under the vehicle and through the Venturi-shaped channels, which creates an area of low pressure and “sucks” the car to the track. Since the underside of the car provides much of the grip, the need for air on the wings to generate downforce is reduced.
