[TPR] NEW RULES Re: MD ENGINE STATUS

O.K. since you guys motivated me,I worked on the engine yesterday---Last time I tried to run it on its flatbed dolly it sputtered and misfired terribly.I suspected the holly carburator that the dawg had given me.It was laying around since Dawg changed to EFI.Yesterday I took out the carburator that came originally with the car(Ford/holly) It was in a box for 31 years,since the PO started the restoration.As was expected it had some leaks,but I ran the engine for about 30 seconds with it and it ran fine. My daughter plans on coming up here with her boyfriend who is a good mechanic(works for Honda,but I forgive him because he treats her good)and the engine will go in the pantera.There are about a million other things to be done to get it on the road,but its a good first step.

Does anybody know a good old time carburetor shop around LA or better San Bernardino where I can have Dawgs Holly rebuilt?

Planning to ppull the engine and ZF next week for an R&P change.

Was  in contact with Eric Petterson about tires for SSCC and he said this past NORC did not any Panteras running. He couldn't remember when there wasn't one running. I told him we will makeup for it at SSCC.

Just talked to Russ on the phone who cracked open the engine last week and started rebuild. Some ring wear but everything was tight and all he had to do was hone out cylinders...no rebore.

Russ spoke to Mike Trusty on the new Comp Cams cam which is another HYD roller but with more duration....114 for my IR-EFI and .625 lift....good enough for this old slow dawg.

Mike rebuilding fuel injection adding new coils etc
Which I am equally stoked about. Russ and Mike built this engine and I got nothing but 8 years of reliability.

hopefully balancing and reassembly of engine will be done in another week then whatever time Mike needs on fuel injection and put it all together.

Feeling stoked that Donny will also  be done by July and have some additional repairs and and top secret upgrades but so far everything looking good and on schedule.
