[TPR] Racing is upon us

Hi Asa Jay,
We had some oil leaks on my "new" SSCC racer so it didn't pass tech. Not a chance.
Trans fluid mainly + engine and turbo oil leaks.

It actually came out of the service shop 2 days before tech but it hasn't really been driven much in the last 24 years.
So the shakedown run was in fact our drive from LA to Vegas the day before SSCC tech.
But it didn't end very well as that trip caused those leaks to happen.

Anyway, it's better to get all problems before the race and not when blasting down the course at 165 mph.
So I believe it was for a reason...

Luckily "El Diablo" was stored in LV so they (Gail & SSCC) allowed me to change our entry at the last minute, after trying to remedy those leaks for two full days at a race shop in LV.

To put it short, it was an expensive nightmare when everything was goin' on but I am more relaxed now...

We even had an exploded rear tire just 23 miles before hitting Vegas on I-15.
Exactly 4 miles north of Jean, at mile marker 16...

We stayed stuck there on the curb in the utterly dark desert all night long for 15 hrs until the day after, before being able to get our a$$es and car into Vegas.

Inger was not very happy...not at all.
And AAA refused to tow/help us.
They came and then just went off...
Fcuk Triple A. They are liars.

Will indeed be going for tech again in September!
I am not giving up!

See you soon!
Take care, Bjoern 😀

But we're glad to see you did get your older car to pass, I assume that was the Mercedes. And you did really great on your time, especially for the 150 class which is usually very crowded.

>>> Laurie, No problems with that, we just put a Team Pantera Racing windshield decal across the top, one on the back valance and you are good to go. We don't mind watching all the -other- vette owners squirm when we come around. :) I think one of Bjoern's cars wears a set of TPR decals too.
>>>
>>> Oh.... and speaking of which... checking out the subscriber list, I find that poor Bjoern isn't on the list. Well, being the Uber IT kind of guy I am, and knowing he likes to hang out with the best at SSCC, I've manually subscribed him.
>>>
>>> Welcome Mr. Flesland to the Team Pantera Racing email forum. It's a little unlike that -other- forum you may be familiar with ;) Don't let the long periods of silence bother you either. When it's not race season... well, there isn't much to talk about.
>>>
>>> Mr. Adin sir, grand Poo-Baa... did you get to Texas for that TWS event? How about coming to play with us in Ely? The girls miss you man, they saw the photo you posted and wanted to know who the tramp was kissing your cheek; they promised some "hands on" attention (whatever -that's- supposed to mean).
>>>
>>> JB, see if Erik can come again, even if he doesn't bring his Pantera. Hey, better yet, tow -his- Pantera to the race and have him drive since yours is still in surgery.
>>>
>>> Dawgy, hey I hear you on the hot temps though it's finally cooling down for a spell up here at the Pantera Research Institute - Pacific Northwest Division. The -smart- highway contractors always do their stuff at night, and amazingly enough tend to finish ahead of schedule and get decent bonuses. You need to work on Paul to make sure he's got everything caught up and under control so he can take five days off work to party with the big dogs. He needs time off just like anyone else. Besides, he hasn't experienced The Brazilian Girls. Rowdy says he'll take it easy on them at SORC and with a month off in between, they should be well rested to party hard with us.
>>>
>>> Alrighty, the countdown continues, y'all have one less day to get shit done.
>>>
>>> Tomorrow, I'm taking the Pantera to a friend who just recently traded his GT5 for a classic and rare Shelby. I'll have him take it for a test drive to give me another "butt-in-the-seat" impression of what we need to do. I figure I'm so used to the imperfections that I don't know what they really are. Then, with whatever time we have, we'll address whatever we can in his well appointed shop. Maybe I'll get some photos while I'm there.
>>>
>>> If the prognosis is pretty good, I may order Tires from The Tire Rack next week. I just need to look up the "insider" guy we found so I can get some really recent date codes. How did everyone else make out talking to him and getting tires?
>>>
>>> Still two hours left in Friday (at least on the West Coast USA), party on. As for Bjoern... uh... Good Morning. :)
