Asa Jay, you copulating rodent . . .
Two hours last night - 1:30 - 4ish - were spent trying to : remember if
hub-centric was better than lug centric; and B) which car/wheels had hub
centric rings and which didn't. sigh . . . . .
Asa's wheels were autox wheels on a hosstang and have never seen high
speeds. what I remember is to torque any lug-centric wheels w/ the tire off
the ground and things should be nice.
Private to the sponsorshipthatdoesn'tpaydept: these events aren't
cheepcheep! Of course, if one has a 800hpblingblingwingedandchained Pantera
. . . why wouldn't you take it out and play with it? Just sitting on the
porch with the other fat old dogs was never that appealing to me.
Current plan as of 6/15/12: run the SSSC mile and support the racers.
David in Durango
Pantera, take it out and play with it!

I should add, these new wheels are lug-centric, which means they use a
tapered lug nut (my Campy lug nuts work fine) and if mounted correctly
and torqued to spec, they -should- be centered by the five lug nuts.
Many cars run with wheels like this.
I've been advised by others however, it would be "better" to be
hub-centric as it helps eliminate any high speed vibrations due to
slight imbalance due to the wheel being off-center. If I don't find a
good hub-centric ring to use, I may simply skip it and see how it
feels at 100+. If there is vibration, I may have to re-think that.
