if you fished a wire through there, you gotta be right! From a hydraulic perspective, there is very little difference between the two, so no worries. I think the only time you would see any difference is if you spun #5 main bearing, and then, it wouldn't really matter anyway. You'd be screwed! :)

FWIW ------- This may have been an error in drawing only, but it had me going. I'm assembling a block and wanted to know how the oil sending unit passage is tied to left lifter gallery. So in testing it with a wire I found the drawing to be miss leading.
