Asa,

That Petty thing is a blast.  I did it 6 or 8 years ago in Las Vegas.  They make you follow another car and keep your speed to 137, but its still a lot of fun.  I drove a Busch series car I think.  It is a cool feeling to actually add power in the curves..... :)

I can't attend Silver State this year because of my work schedule.   
But damned if I didn't just find out there is a nearby Richard Petty  
Driving Experience within spittin' distance of three trade shows I'll  
be attending in 2011.

Orlando (Walt Disney World Speedway)
Phoenix International Raceway
Kentucky Speedway

In fact, had I know there was one in Las Vegas, I could have done that  
one while I was there -last- week.

Rookie Experience plan is $449 and contains instruction and an 8 lap  
single session.  Yea, it's not a lot of seat time and it costs a bit,  
but it sure could be fun.
