And now for the dissenting opinion;
If you don't have millions of dollars falling out of your pocket like Chuck and others <grin> do.............remember mosty anything-Detroit iron that has 8 working cylinders that will get you BACK in the driver's seat of your Pantera is a good thing.
I think waiting months or years doesn't work unless you just ain't man enough to go to the junkyard or to the Mustang and pull that engine you need....okay kidding here guys.....see lots of smiley faces :-) ;-) ;-) ;-)
But if youdon't want to drive the Pantera anymore then doing nothing will be okay too <more grins).....after all ain't you got lots of rain, snow and ice now?
Yea of course you do..... so best time to put in a 'doner' engine until you have more bucks to work with is right now....that way come spring you are ready to drive the Pantera again.
PS I am still waiting for a sponsor to build my 1,000 HP twin turbo street engine for the Pantera ;-)

Dear Asa,
Why don’t you just build another engine over the winter and pop it into the Pantera? Or……more economically, pull the Pantera engine and add new bearings on the lower end and bolt on some 4V heads with port stuffers plus a Funnelweb intake and a new cam? The Pantera is important, but you wouldn’t want to sacrifice a perfectly good Mach I for a powerplant.
Warmest regards, Chuck Engles

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAgh.........
The more I -SIT- here and dwell on it.....
The more I want to put the 351C from the Mach I into the Pantera.....
nnnnnnngh......
I know I could have it done in a couple weekends....
rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh........
It's winter........
I'm not driving the car......
mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmph................
Must.... resist.... temptation.
If I take that engine out of the Mustang... it'll be the death nell for the car and I can't have that.
must.... resist....
