Fins that don't extend all the way to the tanks.... I don't know if this is the "new" way to do it, but I think Fluidyne's quality on these isn't where it used to be. The thing about is.... 10 years ago the Fluidyne radiator for the Pantera cam Fins that don't extend all the way to the tanks....
I don't know if this is the "new" way to do it, but I think Fluidyne's quality on these isn't where it used to be. The thing about is.... 10 years ago the Fluidyne radiator for the Pantera came in a thicker cardboard box and was NOT wrapped in a plastic cardboard sleeve kind of thing. It was protected by FOAM that prevented the radiator from moving inside the box. This new method they are using for packaging is NOT working with a Pantera radiator. It might work with others, but not this radiator. I now have to go through the trouble or returning another one. And this time I'll ask for my money back instead of a replacement.
Note: After contacting Fluidyne, I did find out the fins are no longer extended to the tank because the tube-to-tank process was being compromised. It had to do with the welding flux wicking to the fins instead of the tube-to-tank joint. By stopping the fins before the tank, they actually improved the quality/integrity of the joints. I'm hoping they take care of the other problems though.
