It is a day to remember not only our war dead but all those who came home broken. Who are or were crippled, emotionally broken, homeless, addicted to alcohol and/or drugs. Or are still living with the shame of the way we bugged out of Vietnam or Afghanistan. My war was Vietnam and when I saw the History channel Special about the “fall of Saigon” it reminded me then like it still does today how our so-called leaders let our veterans down. <div><br></div><div>The upside to these unplanned evacuations was many Americans ignored orders to leave Vietnamese behind and risking military careers and orders they kept rounding up their Vietnamese counterparts and getting them by taxi or bus or truck or boat to locations where they could be evacuated.</div><div><br></div><div>My biggest bitch thru all that was the broken promises to our allies. Example: Nixon and Kissinger promised the Vietnamese $ 6 billion in aid to rebuild Vietnam in 1973. Congress never approved the payment or approved President Ford’s funding for even $157 million to evacuate the Vietnamese who faced execution and years of prison and starvation. </div><div><br></div><div>Yep, lots of American promises made and most all broken. </div><div><br></div><div>Yea, Memorial Day for me is not a happy day. </div><div><br></div><div>Dennis<br><br><br><div class="yahoo-signature"><a href="https://mail.onelink.me/107872968?pid=nativeplacement&c=Global_Acquisition_YMktg_315_Internal_EmailSignature&af_sub1=Acquisition&af_sub2=Global_YMktg&af_sub3=&af_sub4=100000604&af_sub5=EmailSignature__Static_">Sent from Yahoo Mail for iPhone</a><br></div><br><p class="yahoo-quoted-begin" style="font-size: 15px; color: #715FFA; padding-top: 15px; margin-top: 0">On Monday, May 29, 2023, 8:22 AM, Asa Jay Laughton via TPR <tpr@teampanteraracing.com> wrote:</p><blockquote class="iosymail"><div id="yiv7809575355"><div><span style="color:rgb(0, 0, 0);">To all my brothers who lost brothers or other loved ones in all the battles we’ve waged to preserve liberty and freedom, let us remember all the sacrifices made by those who have set the example and allowed us to live as free men and women.</span><div><span style=""><br clear="none"></span></div><div><span style="">Asa Jay<br clear="none"></span><br clear="none"><div dir="ltr">Sent via radio waves</div><div id="yiv7809575355yqt68464" class="yiv7809575355yqt7361070065"><div dir="ltr"><br clear="none"><blockquote type="cite">On May 28, 2023, at 15:12, David Carpenter <davecarp80138@outlook.com> wrote:<br clear="none"><br clear="none"></blockquote></div><blockquote type="cite"><div dir="ltr">
