Sam and I spent a few hours in the shop yesterday doing more teardown on the Mach I. We got the gas tank out and the remaining suspension on the driver's side. Bad news, the unibody frame rail under the driver's side upper a-arm is just as bad as the other side. Bad news, the front eye-bolts on the rear springs are frozen to the aluminum eye (part of the Caltracs traction bars). I'm not sure how I'm going to get them off now. The heim joints on the Caltracs are also frozen. Just more parts to go on the list.

Good news, I can roll the car over and clear the stands. Bad news, it's not balanced well and I've run out of adjustment. <sigh>.

And for some reason, none of my posts to facebook are working anymore.

The gas tank looks pretty good, so I'm going to look for a local place that can clean and check it. Then I'll probably give it a POR-15 or similar treatment. Next I need to schedule a soda blaster to clean the scale and paint, then get after the problem areas.

Lots more to do.
