I did not know the second event was added due to the first one being so booked... interesting. Even though I like running twice a year, I can certainly understand the economics of doing just one.<br class="" id="yui_3_16_0_1_1447677133541_11827"><br class="" id="yui_3_16_0_1_1447677133541_11829">My idea is very similar to Tom's and revolves around the marketing of the event. My thought was to put together a somewhat canned package that could be used in multiple venues: car shows, track days under a pop-up tent, club meetings, etc. Packages would be distributed to a handful of dedicated ORR'ers that want to tell others about the event. The package would be the same for everyone so a consistent message went out everywhere. A Pantera owner at a car show in St. Louis gets the same message as a Hellcat owner in Oregon. <br class="" id="yui_3_16_0_1_1447677133541_11831"><br class="" id="yui_3_16_0_1_1447677133541_11833">Sample Package: <br class="" id="yui_3_16_0_1_1447677133541_11835"></span></div>

Eric Pettersen and I have been lobbying the board for two years now to reach out with a specific co-marketing proposal to track day organizations like Hooked On Driving and like Track Masters. Their members have the exact profile that fits perfectly with SSCC events: guys with really nice cars, not race cars, just great street cars, who want to experience more of the exciting potential of their cars. We proposed that these track day organizations could pre-qualify entrants to by-pass the SSCC Qualifying School, offer reduced entry fees to highly-qualified contestants, and even allow advanced drivers to jump past the 110 class to the 125 class (140 tech) on their first run. In return, SSCC could award a few free entries to the track day events. The track day organizations are growing, while SSCC is not, so this seems like a good way to jump-start some growth and publicity. I sent Gail a full PowerPoint presentation of the proposal some time ago.</div>
