<p>HONESTLY, No you dont want it....we only added it because the STOCK hood would not fit over that Ron Davis CUP radiator...and I didnt want to cut up the steel decklid.</p>
<p>So Dick and I thought lets just make up a CF hood and vent some air through it to reduce front end lift...maybe also eliminate need for front air dam.</p>
<p>But we knew that too would be a compromise since I wasnt willing to cut up the bulkhead so the modified hood is functional...it does reduce or vent allot of air entering rad at high speed...and ran it on toll road at speed withOUT the air dam but to keep it in place I need to tape down the hood BEFORE every ORR....</p>
<p>otherwise at about 135 mph the hood starts lifting in center as air enters thru bottom of the intake hole UNLESS I tape up the small gap...yea the tape mod eliminates this compromise but its a PIA to tape up and honestly the only machine I will be going 150+ mph from now on will be either a commercial jet, JB's plane, or a new or late model car.</p>
<p>What Rich and others did with their RACE panteras cutting out bullhead is the way to go...but my pantera and YOUR pantera are not race panteras.....although pretty<br>
fast street panteras...easily good for 180 + mph and ability to average 150-155 mph without much difficulty....however I decided I cant do it any more.</p>
<p>I do have a "Grutch Match" with Bentley for next year at SS. There is a great story of Dave Golders navigator unbuckling during his last run to MOON one of his buddies who they had just passed...not impossible in a pantera but would be a challenge</p>
<p>Easier would be what Tracy Castro in his 69 Z28 and I did when we had a grudge match which was to pass each other a couple times giving each other the BIRD each time we passed...I know we already shared this information but I crack up everytime I think of Traceys 69 Z28's top window molding coming off after he passed me and it flew back and bounced off my hood...and they talk about parts coming off my pantera ;-)</p>
<p>Think we were in a 110-140 speed division and it was a a lot of fun ;-)</p>
