Alright! This will be fun. :)
My plans aren't taking me into Las Vegas on Sunday night though, so
I'll miss out on the regular banquet. The Major and I are staying
the night in Ely so we can get a good head start on the trip back
Monday morning.

Still planning on fun though.

Howdy Boys,
sorry, but I have no good news.Have done some work on the cat but
nowhere close to be finished.Last year in October we lost our
main customer, the French tourbusses, the owner died in a plane
crash,so the year was hard.Maureen and me have been working on
the kitchen addition, but with the heat we don't get much work
done.I've been in bed for over a weeknow with a herniated
disk/sciatica.
THATS ENOUGH BAD NEWS YOU SAY???

Here is the good news:
upon seeing dawgs email fraulein Maureen went straight to the
phone and made reservations for me at hotel Nevada thurs/fri/sat
night and sams for sunday.

We need to make plans and be better organized than last year.JB
are you bringing the motorhome?I can definitely put the
partsrunner Cadillac on dawgs trailer and drive to finish line
or drive the motorhome there.

I'll bring a professional camera and equipment and take tons of
pictures and we'll make a video of the event.
Let's see if that focking Kraut is good for something.

see you all soon

I am copying Peter on your msg if you did not so he can
give us update....I just know summer temps at his ranch are
like crazy hot.

I was kidding earlier. of course about Michelin tires
being bad as I hav e had at least 2 sets...its just that I
am superstitious.

I remember when Junior crashed in 97...he was running
'last' years orr tires.....If I thought I was going to run
200 MPH or faster then 180 MPH which I seriously know I wont
at SS elevation then I WILL be running NEW tires every orr
run. Evan then we all know 100-150+ MPH speeds offer high
risks. No one but me should ever do it as even I am legally
blind, legally deaf and dumb but Iknow every bump and knott
hole on that road. When I drive it I run "instrument" flying
blind...try to forget I am in a old tired street Pantera.

Far as down force is concerned I was and still am
impressed wot a difference running that modified hood Dick
Drenske originally designed makes...

Dick and others said it would help reduce front end lift
but honestly I did not realize how much until I did a high
speed test run last weekend.

Yea that hood is not for show. I was just always
reluctant to test it.

IT WORKS at 180...but for it to work at 200 mph is
another question....ideally Iwould be running a cut out
bulkhead and move the hood hole back 6 inches but I did not
then want to cut up the chassis.

Will discuss more serious mods at hotel bar after a
couple couple shooters...all I want to do is maybe average
155-160 with some sprints to 175 but there is NO PLAN...will
see how she feels UP there on that road at speed and what
Russ says tomorrow on engine tests.....I dont want to sit
out on that road ever again waiting for a trailer. :-)

Subject: [TPR] Peter, the German

That would be great to see Peter again this year even if he
didn't have
his Pantera ready. But... let's find out just what he has
left to do...
maybe he's close and we can give him a boost.

On the tires, I know a bunch of guys were running the Pilot
Sports for a
few years, they should be a good tire. You just never know
when it's
time for one to go.

I'd pick something that will get you as close to the 27" you
need as
possible, with the highest speed rating you can get; I mean
the
-highest-. But before you buy, you might want to pass them by
Eric, to
make sure he's good with them in unlimited.

Are you planning on running with that $10K prize purse in your
front
trunk? That may be the only thing holding down the nose over
188 MPH. ;)
