<DIV>Bloomberg set a record @ 212ish in a 302 Pantera - 3 or 5 miles.</DIV>

<DIV>Darryl J. runs a lot of cubes in his beautiful car and runs mile
events. 180 something is his best run. All the research I've done
indicates at least 800 wheel hp to achieve 200 in a mile. Given a good run
and lots of traction.</DIV>

<DIV>So, touching 200 is one thing, making a 200mph run in a mile is
something else.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>As Steve says, there are a few other things to worry about along
the way.</DIV>

got a lot of work to do. I don't recall all the details (I think
they're in a POCA newsletter or Profiles somewhere), but there is a
team who did Bonneville in their Pantera and exceeded 200 MPH.
They didn't have a lot of body mods as I recall but they had to have
some serious horsepower.<BR><BR>Is it Daryll Adams that has the
modified Pantera he's been running at the Mojave One Mile?
I believe he's been approaching 200 MPH but again, lots of
horsepower.<BR><BR>There -is- info out there if you want to challenge
a speed north of 165 which it sounds like you are considering.

a time. MD was a great mentor and certainly knows the ropes.

The only problems with it are the steering rack is shot and
the tires. Talk about a problem getting tires for
Pantera's 15" wheels. I'm open to
