OH, and before Mad Dawg craps his pants about tires at Autocross not
passing tech for SSCC...

I have brand new wheels and tires on the Pantera that have never seen
autocross and -won't-. These are my open road tires.

And the new engine is still clean. No leaks so far, no engine oil
drips on the floor, and the back of the manifold is still clean.
Let's pray it stays that way.

Asa Jay

Quoting asajay@asajay.com:

> Roger that, that's the plan. I've tried to clean up the engine
> compartment so it doesn't look like I've had any recent leaks. Once I
> get to Ely after the trip and Rookie School, I planned on giving her
> another engine bay path prior to tech. It won't be a spit and polish
> shine like most of the trailered
garage queen Panteras you see
at
> shows... but it will be clean.
>
> Asa Jay
>
> Oh, and at Autocross, I can't run the tub or -anything- loose in the
> front or back. The open track guys up here don't like it much either,
> but it's all about following the rules.
>
>
> Quoting Mad Dog Antenucci <teampantera@yahoo.com>:
>
>> Not correct.....when you show up for Tech...you need to take the tub
>> and contents in the tub OUT of the car....they need to inspect your
>> entire engine bay...they don't do sheeeit but they want to see
>> it.....make sure you are not showing up with oil sprayed all over
>> your engine compartment.....ahhh they will be looking for a double
>> return spring on throttle and any 'lose' line that are
not
>> tie-wrapped, normal stuff
you have teched at any open track
>> event......but they don't jack up your car and unless they feel too
>> much movement on wheel/tires (bad bearing or bushing) its more of a
>> VISUAL inspection then anything else.....not sure why Dan Courtney
>> always had so many problems.
>>
>> After you pass TECH you just put everything including the tub back
>> except leave out your extra can of GAS in the plastic can (kidding)
>> and shut the deck lid....as long as you are NOT running with a open
>> deck lid tech does not care.
>> they just don't want anything lose inside the car. do NOT ask the
>> SSCC List or Tech guys this question.....it will just open up a can
>> of worms.
>>
>> so in summary take out the deck lid for inspection and then after
>> they sign off on your TECH put your sheeit back in place....when
