You should, very telling what you can find stuck to the filter element.<br><br>I'd still have the oil sent out as well.<br><br>I'd expect some scuffing, plating from the rings and residual gasket (RTV) material.<br>

<br>Be looking for steel and aluminum shavings, chunks, and any water/collant content<br>in the oil at all.<br><br>16 mpg sounds good, once you get the new shoes on it, be curious to learn the sizes of everything <br>and the actual speed using a GPS versus indicated speeds.<br>
