<html><body><div style="color:; background-color:; font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14pt"><div><span style="font-family: 'times new roman', 'new york', times, serif; font-size: 12pt; ">Reading the LA Times this morning I read the latest "we-know-wotz-best-for-you" is the Newport Beach city nazi's recommending pulling half the fire pits at 2 state beaches since they pose an alledged safety hazard.</span><br></div><div style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; "><div style="font-family: 'times new roman', 'new york', times, serif; font-size: 12pt; "><br>Never mind that the fire pits have concrete fire rings and have a warning on each one that says "DANGER HOT COALS".....<br><br>No, that apparently is not good enough. While the City must get approval from the infamous 'Coastal Commission' that same distinguished boar has already slashed the number of fire pits that were on the beaches. Some of those fire pits
have been there longer then the folks visiting the beaches....yet only 24 state parks along our coastline still allow fires.<br><br>Whats next? memories was driving to the Washington Coast and driving on the beaches (still allowed!) and having huge bon fires (still allowed)....of course it was wet, cold and the girls all looked like men.<br><br>And least I should ever forget the.first time I drove down to California from Seattle to SF along the pacific coast highway and stopped somewhere along the ocean just inside the California border to sleep on the beach for the night on a beautiful.California night...there was not a park or city or house for miles....yet I got kicked away by a CHP officer at first light to remind me that I could not.sleep on the beach......not only there but NO where on any California beaches.....that was my first reminder I was in California! Still I would not be deterred...I kept coming....yea for the GIRLS and the dream.<br><br>The good news if there is one is that there is a reported petition against this latest dumb ass proposal to ban the fire pits and its
