<DIV>DANGERDANGERDANGER</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>called my machinist (John) - you owe him a 12 pack of Modelo Especial . . .
</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>First, John said one used to be able to buy .001 bearings. Shimming
is from Model A days and he didn't recommend. What John would recommend is
to mic the journals at least four different places to determine if the journals
are egg-shaped for some reason. If still round, look for the .001 tighter
bearings. Alex at Moneymaker or Russ should know if these are
available. If you have egg shaped journals (I'd check the rods, too) turn
the crank. Hope you found a good machine shop!</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Note: John and I plastigauged my brgs dry - I've never heard of oil . . .
.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>I trust John's experience way more than my personal opinion - and always
call when I'm not sure.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Good luck!</DIV>
