The White Pine Tourism & Recreation Board, White Pine Chamber of Commerce, the commissioners of Lincoln, Nye and White Pine Counties and the SSCC all wrote letters of support to the Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT).

We have received official confirmation from NDOT that on Thursday, May 24, 2012, NDOT unanimously approved that Hwy. 318 will be renamed and known as the “Silver State Classic Challenge Highway.”

There will be an "unveiling" in a few months by NDOT and we will post a message as to when. In September, the SSCC is planning to have a "ribbon cutting" at the start line on race day.
