Come on... you -know- it was because you were driving a Pantera and
they couldn't get enough. :)<br>
<br>
Actually, I know it sounds strict at first, but probably
reasonable. At the driving school I attended last year, they kind
of expected the beginner groups to spin as they figured out their
limitations. On day two, I spun twice with the instructor in the
car, same corner, different reasons. Each time I was nearly amazed
at the instructors calm. Each time I got grounded and hat to sit
out the rest of the session.<br>

TWS... I was voted as the most improved driver on Saturday and of
course that went to my head. I had learned to come out of that
corner in a nice 4 wheel drift and it was great!
<div>
<br>
<div>On Sunday morning, feeling cocky and supreme, I nailed the
throttle in third gear out of good old turn 2 on the first lap
under a yellow.</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>I then proceeded to do a 720 out of the corner into the
grass.</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>After watching the world go around and around and I sat
there feeling foolish and both of us choking on the dry grass
floating around the cabin, the instructor let it sink in
awhile and then asked 'What happened there?'</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>I replied, 'Idiot driver, cold track and cold tires.'</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>He said that I was absolutely correct and then we drove
back and I got an earful from the guy running the event. </div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>'You spin, you're out of here! It was under a yellow! But
since you did so good yesterday, I'll let it go, but no more
spins, OK?' </div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>'Yes, sir... No problem!'</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>Humble and very chastened, we went out again and a few laps
into the session, we were heading towards turn 3 and the
instructor said something as I was starting to brake. I looked
at him and said 'What?'</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>Big mistake... I looked back at the track and it was too
late to finish the braking and although I tried to make it, a
360 into the inside of the turn was the result.</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>Drove back and the head instructor really laid into me
until my instructor said 'It was my fault.' </div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>'What?'</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>'Yeah, it was my fault. I distracted him.'</div>

</div>
<div>'OK, Kirby. You get another chance! But no more spins or
you're out of here!'</div>
<div>'Yes, sir!'</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>Quite a weekend... but I learned a lot. I was told I was
the only guy anyone knew that managed to spin twice and still
get to stay for the weekend.</div>
<div>I reckon everyone needs to spin their car at least once to
know when it will happen and why...</div>

Bwahahahha, I found my first spin (cold race tires - I
didn't think I'd ever<br>
stop sliding!) a very liberating thing. I became much
faster - when I could<br>
stay on the path. congratulations!<br>
