My Grandfather was a Buick mechanic probably as long as Buick was Buick… In 1981 He went to a Buick dealership to buy my Grandmother a new Buick. I could tell you a few things and probably will at some point as to why he had no idea that car prices had gone up. Another time maybe. He got into an argument with the owner of the dealership after fishing through the salesman and whatever chain of contact was available at the moment. The car he wanted to buy was over $4000.00 and he had paid something like $2000 on the last new car he had bought many years prior.
