SURE:  it took time to come up with a proper plan.  But this was PROBABLY your first raccoon in a house!!!
Lets face it: NOT your house!!

You probably had to suppress the extreme desire to laugh!!!  ( Animal House/FOOD FIGHT or Blues Brothers running  thru your mind!! )

I had an adult raccoon as a pet two years when I was a kid.  AWESOME pet!! But They'll Rip a dog to shreds!!
Any dog, when extreme emotion exists, they're an extreme danger even to their owner!
Plus: a 7 round 1911....is a poor tool @ a basketball sized target going 200 mph!!!!

Great rant CD#3....brings to mind when I heard my next door neighbor and her daughter and dog screaming a few years ago.
Grabbed my 1911 and ran next door only to find their dog chasing the Raccon around the house....every damn wall hanging was down on the floor...looked like a crime scene....I just blurted to them both OPEN YOUR DOORS.....and they did and the Raccon escaped. The problem was they always left their windows open.

Daughter was about 25 so it took me a couple moments before I yelled to open the doors.

I had enough!!!  ( my first thought....GO BACK TO CITY WHERE YA BELONG!!)

Bears: the same.
Bird feeders all over your deck & tired of poop on your chairs!!!!  DUH!!
Tent cities in city parks!  Give them more free stuff....the problem will grow!!!  INSTEAD: give our OWN people a helping hand!!  Give them a LIFT up.....as long as they continue to help back!!!  Don't inviter MORE....help what ya already got!!
But somehow.....they couldn't find $100,000 to help.....but they willingly found MILLIONS of $$$$  to feed the whole World!!!!  ( then want to raise taxes)
