Dave we need DennisQ’s Pantera for Pikes Peak. Buy it super Dave!!
Steve, nothing but high respect for your passion and putting your blood and treasure into racing a vintage Pantera every year. Which has been about 3 times the cost of what I have spent since 2018.
Vintage racing is not a working mans game. But glad you and your team are doing it.
Thank you sir!
Dennis

To put it perspective, for my lowly Group 3 car, we put a freshly rebuilt "mild" race motor at $24,000 (including Dyno time) and a newly rebuilt ZF in it from Ron at $19,000. $43,000, and we are way tuned down compared to Dennis's tube frame car. I love racing it. And would do it again in a heart best. Whoever buys Dennis's car, I hope has the passion to race it right, and not put it in a collection.
We look forward to racing with Ron at Road America (and Asa Jay joining us).

Dennis Quella used to be one of the reliable ZF rebuilders but he’s not been able to catch up in that part of the business for some time. The ZF in his car is most likely modified with gearing changes but nothing special for robustness. He might have been rebuilding it himself regularly during the years he raced it but it’s not seen a track in a hood number of years.
I agree, it won’t be cheap to run. No race car ever is.

It’s a beautiful car. It will not be inexpensive to run, and the ZF is likely at its limits given the big slicks and big motor. Even our ZF is getting annual trips for rebuild to Ron.

I don’t know who is writing the comments in the auction but I’d guess it’s Adam; Dennis son. In the comments it says he never kept a log book so I don’t think he did any sanctioned events. I think it was a fun car for him to race around in and market his Pantera services. Some absolutely beautiful restorations and restomods have come out of his shop. Would it qualify in tech? I would think it’s gotta be awfully close but I’m not an expert on race cars or sanctioning requirements.
I know it’s -not- a real Pantera since it has a complete tube frame chassis. It’s a beautiful car for what it is.
Because it’s on Bring a Trailer, it will ride until the end. I can’t tell if there is a reserve or not because I don’t frequent it enough to know how to tell. I expect the price will stay low until the last day when it will go crazy. I can’t speculate what it will eventually sell for. It will have to appeal to someone looking for a race car that looks similar to a Pantera and is willing to put some money into it to bring it up to any requirements needed to race.
Or go into a collection somewhere.🙂

I know the car well. All the upgrades and would be a great open road or track car. Did DennisQ ever complete any sanctioned events with that P?

This is a race car only. It is not streetable and can’t be made to be street legal. I’ve seen this car in person at Pantera Performance Center when I visited, and at different race events.
It’s now for sale. It’s nearly turn-key but I’d advise giving it a good going over, which in the comments says Dennis will be happy to do with you at his shop.
I think Dennis health may be forcing this sale. He’s a great guy. I’ve missed his Pantera being on a course.
