Hey Guys,
Talked to a few of the guys today who are vetrans and prospects. It's been a few years since we saw Bob Benson bad-ass black Pantera racecar with the monster stainless steel wing and the last time he ran it at Sears Point (aka Sonoma Raceway) broke a piston...amazingly the engine did not grenade but he is rebuilding his small block. So his back up Plan B entry may be his latest purchase. An award winning '70 Camaro with a 13:1 small block 355. 
Last year he custom ordered Viking Double adjustable shocks for his Pantera and hope to share that information on cost and availability when he gets me details. He had Ron McCall build him a set of 180 degree stainless headers which obviously were not cheap but I have seen them before on other rides and they are beautiful. But will remind him to send me a photo as he knows Mad Dawg loves BLING.HAHA
Then Tony Ortiz in Arizona as well as Shad Bruce also from Arizona are planning to attend. If you did not see their custom Panteras before they are both highly modified and very fast.
Even bigger news to me is Peter Menyhart has made allot of progress on his Pantera rebuild and should be ready for the SS in Sept. It would be cool to see more of our peeps return....Gerry in one of his beasts, Lee bringing his other yella beast or JB in his equally insane yella beast or maybe with his C8!   Mark and Jim with either the Z06 or Jim's BMW maybe even the Ford 427!! And maybe some surprises.
Not much change for me....Asa will help on a few things for me, replacing shocks, pulling and sending headers out to recoat and installing Randy's front end splitter and a simple rear duct tail wing or like the small one I ran in 1999 that survived the fire. Will be part of my discussion with Ron McCall tomorrow as he is running a rear wing at Road America.
