Good answer Asa. And again check the SSCC rule book.

A point Dave shared with me this morning on arm restraints. tech at Grid will check all your belts and they all need to be tight to include the submarine belt to be effective in an accident. But do not count on Tech to check or tighten them. Its on YOU. This year we will check one another in Ely prior to the Sunday run.

A lesson learned story here.
Carl Young who was long time ORR veteran was NOT wearing arm restraints. He rolled over at about 170 MPH.
Yea very very fast.

He had all the safety gear including roll cage…EXCEPT he had arm restraints. As they were recommended then but not required.

He and his navigator wife both had critical arm injuries. In fact Carl’s arm never fully recovered. After the accident he acknowledged he usually wore them but had left them in his tow rig the morning of the race.

Be safe and have fun. Talk slowing down this year. I can’t keep up with Mark anymore!
