Very sad news. Condolences to Parnelli Jones and family. I know that he once owned a world famous race car, " Big Oly" that Lance had worked on at Bill Stroppe's shop in the 70's. He has Parnelli's dyno sheets. Big Oly went to famous collector Bruce Meyer, now a high end collector.

God bless Parnelli!Guys like him or Roger Ward and a long list of post WWII veterans are fading fast.
Also, on the special day, I am reminded by what some of you have said or reminded us all of which is the manu veterans who served and continue to serve and to those who made the ultimate sacrifice in combat or returned home with lifetime disabilities. Very little has been shared about those veterans struggling in VA hospitals or at home.
Remembering a father, step father in two uncles who all served as part of the greatest generation and now they are all gone, but they certainly made positive impressions in my life, and I just want to thank them and all who have served and continue to serve a big thanks.

One of the greatest, toughest drivers of his era, Rufus Parnell Jones, known to one and all in the racing game as Parnelli Jones, lost his battle with Parkinson’s Disease on June 4 in Torrance, CA. Jones was 90 years old and had lived in the South Bay area of Los Angeles County for all but seven years of his life, having been born in Arkansas.
Parnelli Jones was a master of going faster and performed his feats in many different phases of motor sport. From the start of his career, Jones’ prowess in any type of car, from jalopies to late models to West Coast stockers, he showed the talents that would see him find success through the many different phases of his career.
