CRITICAL GO-NO GO RULES
A. TIRES…number 1 reason for failing Tech…
If you are driving a Pantera, Viper, Corvette or other car capable of 150+ MPH speeds you will be held to a higher standard than the H speed rated tires for Touring Divisikn as noted in SSCC Rule Book.
Minimum for a Pantera is V rated for even Touring and Eric Petterson prefer to see W, Y or Z rated tires with the spec’d load rating on mfg tires yes even for Touring Division.
Also note 5-year LIMIT on tires in TOURING Division. If any one tire is more than week over the 5 year rule your tires will NOT pass tire tech.
Again, no flat spots or cracking allowed on any tires of any age. I highky recommend Y (186) speed rated tires. Tire dates are stamped on sidewall of all tires by week and year. Example: 23/23
Is 23rd week of 2023
2. 2&1/2# fire Extinguisher in car needs to be mounted on a metal bracket and should be reachable inside the cockpit.
3. Rookie School for all new participants. UNLESS you have a race license OR you have completed a driving school.
4. Arm restraints mandatory for both Grand Touring and Grand Sport. If you install do NOT Remove the date tags.
5. Roll bar required for Grand touring and Grand sport.
6. If you are running Touring Division a lap belt in good condition will pass tech but highly recommend using a harness bar with a 5-6 point harness.
Team, bottom line is closely review the TECH RULES and inspect your entire vehicle and any tow vehicle and trailer tires, lights and mechanicals as well.
Please reach out to me, Asa, Mark, or Bjoern if you have any questions or need any help.
If you need parts and don’t have a favorite vender I recommend “Larry Stock” of Pantera Parts Connection.
Go fast or go home.
