 Please do not ban diesel in Oregon.
Consider this;
My diesel truck 4x4 crew cab gets over 32 mpg on the highway where it is mainly used.  The economy runs on diesel.  California is wrong about diesels as Europe knows how good they are for there efficiency which is 28% or more than a gas engine.  Banning diesels would be a  giant step backwards for Oregon or any state.  Did you know Ford lost $4 billion dollars this year trying to make uniformed people happy by leaping into electric cars.  Only the elite bought them to feel good.  Landmark Ford had a lease on the Mach E electric car that had a $43.000 discount just to get the units sold.  Informed people know the benefits of running diesel.  The governments law of adding 20% biodiesel in Oregon is another mistake.  When running that mix my truck looses 5 MPG on the highway. I would extrapolate that it pollutes more burning more fuel. It also ruins older diesels prior to 2019.  Another bureaucratic mistake.  Law makers do not know enough about diesel to make such sweeping laws.  At Lake Tahoe the government banned a common additive in gasoline as they felt it was polluting the water in the lake, a noble reason.  After they mandated a change in additive they learned it was worse at polluting the lake than the original mix of additives.  Just because California is going crazy banning diesel we should not follow.  The blue state does not do their homework.
Also the air we strive so well to keep clean is not captured here.  We share the atmosphere with China, Mexico ,Asia, Russia etc.  Have you considered what we do here does not stay here but the stupid does?
Consider this green deal back fire.  Pure electric cars are so heavy the tires shedding there tread as micro pieces of oil are polluting worse than gas car emissions in total.  It's in studies. The new electric Hummer has people reporting having to replace tires in 8 thousand miles!   Please do not get caught up in California mistakes and the green new deal.  These people are not doing what is best for the planet or us.
