Hi all,
The Hotel Nevada has been our team headquarters for the past 20 years.
That may change if the TPR attendees wish it to.
Meanwhile, I got a glimpse of the entire list of Suites and amenities
this year. I already have the Jimmy Stewart suite reserved for next
September. All suites include a mini-fridge and a microwave. Here is
the list:
Floor 2:
No suites
Floor 3:
311: King Mini Suite, shower (no celebrity name)
312: Wayne Newton Suite - Queen, Tub, Handicap accessible
317: Lyndon Johnson Suite - King, Shower
318: Mini-Family Suite - one king, two queens, two rooms, two
baths (one tub), hardwood floors (no carpet)
Floor 4:
411: Queen Mini Suite, tub (no celebrity name)
412: Mickey Rooney Suite - Queen, Tub
417: Vicky Carr Suite - Queen, shower
418: Mini-Family Suite - one king, two queens, two rooms, two
baths (one tub), hardwood floors (no carpet)
Floor 5:
512: Jimmy Stewart Suite - King, tub
517: John Schneider Suite - Queen, shower
518: Mini-Family Suite - one king, two queens, two rooms, two
baths (one tub), hardwood floors (no carpet)
Floor 6:
All rooms appear to be named after celebrities, BUT not all are suites
611: Charlie Pride Suite - Queen, tub
612: Ingrid Bergman Suite - King, Tub, handicap accessible
617: The Kennecott Suite - 2 queens, living room, kitchenette, tub,
618: Mini-Family Suite - one king, two queens, two rooms, two
baths (one tub), hardwood floors (no carpet)
The mini suites are a little more than the regular rooms. I paid $89.10
per night for the Jimmy Stewart Suite this year. That is pretty
reasonable considering how much it can be to stay at the higher end
hotels at the other end of town. However, some of those other hotels do
have more amenities. Staying at the Hotel Nevada keeps you close to the
meetings, though it is easy enough to drive.
I imagine the family mini suites are about twice the price, I don't know.
A note about staying at the Circus-Circus Reno. It's better to stay in
the North Tower right at check-in, than the Sky Tower that you have to
walk a block to get to. Remember, NORTH Tower. ;)
Alrighty, that's all just FYI for anyone who wishes to stay at the Hotel
Nevada next year. Try to get a mini suite. :)
