[TPR] Fwd: SSCC 2023 Rule book changes

One more reason to join us in Ely listening to stories about how daring or fast we used to be!
Our new KID (Chris Terp) plus Lee (still a Pantera rookie) and Ransom Sanders (another rookie) will be the new guys to watch to watch in this new year. With two pack of Rottweilers that Paul and Chris own our parking security at the Hotel Nevada should not be a problem.

But the bigger news is Bud Hower got a green go cars to enter the SORC in Nebraska. A long time SORC and SSCC veteran he turns 80 this week and he calls me “KID. I don’t want to hear any of you slackers whine about being old.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BUD

> A roll cage in a Pantera with that forward protection adds another level over just a roll bar. For Pantera safety, Personally speaking, I don’t see where a single Roll Bar will add much to what’s already built into the original Pantera design. A roll cage will reinforce those rather weak windshield pillars greatly. That firewall shear panel coupled with the B Pillars and the Targa top hoop structure makes that middle of the car exceptionally strong. The Next greatest weakness in a Pantera is reinforcing the doors for the side impact. Again, a Cage can be fashioned with side bars to reinforce the doors, so you can add another level of safety protection again with a cage.

The front pillars are not so much, but that center box is a rather substantial structural design. In a Pantera a Roll cage, makes more sense than a roll bar.
