While there are  no new changes for the PANTERA other then harness dates it looks likely now that the SSCC Board like other sanctioning race groups (NASA etc) have already decided that late model sports cars like the Viper, Porsche, and others like C6/C7 before that and now the C8/Z06 can run in both the Grand Touring and possibly also the Grand Sport division without an added after market roll bar. 

FOR YOUR PANTERA You are NOT required to add a roll bar or a harness to your pantera for the Touring Division.

On C8/Z06’s This pending decision is based on feedback Frank has got from NASA and other HPDE group race directors who agree that the welded in hoop on the B pillar (Note photo) does not require an added roll over protection. 

While you are not required to have a roll bar in a PANTERA for Touring or Grand Touring I agree with others it is highly recommended at speed. 

Running the Touring Division in your PANTERA (95-100-105-110 mph classes) with a 124 mph top/tech speed does NOT require a roll bar or a harness unless it is a convertible.  

For the Pantera the rules stay the same for 2023….the same 5 or 6 point harness will still be required for both the Grand Touring Division (115-120-125) with a 140 top/technical speed as well as the Grand sport (130-135-140-145-150-155) with a tech speed of 165 mph) will the other requirements noted in the SSCC Rule Book. 

And to run above Touring speeds in your first ORR you will need a certificate of completing a driving school or have a race license.

Guys check out the pdf rule book. Do not depend  on my personal summary….the pdf rule book is on the SSCC web site and has been updated for 2023 season.
