Dad had HUGE respect for ANYTHING Jeep after his time w them during WWII!!! Jeeps/Rambler/American Motors…..all we had while I was growing up!!!!
He even had one of these for plowing snow!! (I think 1958 FC 170 model )
NOT fast at all. I think inline 6 cyl flat head. PLENTY of torque….no speed!!! I just looked it up…..an Impressive 115 HP!!!!!!!!
BTW: Rambler Ranch is just three miles from our current house. ( Elizabeth CO ) Terry has maybe 300 Rambler’s on display inside…..& maybe 500 more outside in trees. Building after building….all devoted to the brand from it’s earliest years to last ones produced. MANY rare & one off conversions. I think a “Beauty’ Un-restored 1918….even leather seats Original & look awesome. Even some that were special to Mark Donahue. ( limited edition Matador I think …like 200 miles on it )
He has an American Motors PACER with all it’s stickers from Silver State ORR back in 1997!! ( Seems like it ran 140 class according to decals ) Certainly modified!!
TOO bad is wasn’t closer to you folks. He LOVES to have car clubs rent the place out for the day. It’d be a GREAT meeting place for TPR!!!!!!

Some come from the generation:
‘’If you stop crying, I’ll buy you something!!!”
WE come from:
“ If you don’t stop crying, I’ll give you something to cry about” generation!!!

‘Thanks Dad’….we were learning & didn’t even know how important the lesson would be!!!!

My 1962 Willys pickup cab on a 1968 Willys Wagoneer frame with a 1967 AMC 327 and Turbo 400…

Could probably hit 100, though I don’t recall ever pushing it that far. It was a screaming engine. I get kinda sad occasionally when I think I should never have sold it.

My 1949 Willys Overland with the original 4-cylinder would get up to 50-55 on level ground; 45 up Sunset hill. And that’s all she had. :)

Here’s the latest on a head count for Silver State.

Right now no Pantera’s will be ready for next month….first time I can ever remember that happening in the last 25 years.

In *other cars* we have Mark&Jim bringing one of Jims spec race cars BMW as I recall (?), Paul in his Viper and Dawg in his C8. We might have to adopt other-other cars in Ely to make up a team 🙄🙄
