Just back from long stretch in SW Portland and catching up on my emails. I see Congrats in order for you on this new big move and venture.  All I can say is, as was once said to me, "Welcome to the Wonderful World of Corvettes, and don't forget to wave when you pass others."  I'm sure it's hard to let your Phoenix go.  As my grandson is hell bent on taking over my C5 Vette, I might have to consider the same.  If you recall my simple non racer torch red C5 is automatic, really low miles, and it's claim to fame is that one bright day it was filled with my golf clubs and various equipment and on a club run to Fontana Motor Speedway with the Pantera Club, and it beat out Bobby Byars outside on the streets of Fontana. He was in his Cobra when we were messing around.  As slowing down I looked at the speedo and surprised myself; it was at 130.  He wasn't just being gracious as he told me he changed out his motor after that playful challenge.  I really want a newer Vette too. It's just hard to let the P. go as you are all are well aware.   I'm on my third Vette and way overdue for my fourth, maybe not the newest but must get one with important upgrades like at least the two cup holders. : )   Have to also consider my 400i Ferrari is still at GTO Engineering in LA and my friend Eric Sander is working on it, when he gets the time (which evidently isn't that often).  He's a great Ferrari technician and has worked at several of the Ferrari dealerships, has a great reputation.  His friend, Jack, has a lovely white GT5S Pantera that he's also worked on and was Pantera of the Quarter a couple issues back.  My F. had clogged fuel injectors, needed to rebuild starter but Mike Drew turned me onto a good source for a light weight, high power one, less expensive than rebuilding the orig.) and it got new plugs.  Needs new tires too as it has French metric Michelins only can be replaced by Coker.  Then it'll be good to go.  Might have to sell something big to pay for it all though.   BTW guess what Eric drives as his daily.  If you said, Vette, you'd be correct.
As far as TPR nominations, thank you for your kind consideration but I must respectfully decline as I have been quite busy and truthfully spend lots of time on my quarterly interview column for Profiles.  Only those who belong to POCA can read these. The column features noteworthy Pantera personalities. I've been doing it over a year now,  Dawg was the first, then Terry Himes (JPL Mars Engineer), Carmine Appice (famous rock drummer), Tony Hayles (the English car collector who bought Carmine's P, Lloyd Butfoy (RBT Transmissions, tells the story of his work on the Robbie Gordon Indy Race Team before taking over the ZF business, and tells of his Dad's history and work on the first GT40 Alan Mann Racing Team in England, yep of the famous Ford vs Ferrari story, then Lance Nist from way back to his youth and working at Bill Strooppe on the very first Panteras to come to USA, and next one up will be John Davis TV star of MotorWeek.
So once again, Big Congrats to you!   Now you can join Vegas Vettes or better yet, The Old Fart Race Team.  : )  Yours always truly,Laurie

Subject: [TPR] Pantera going to a new custodian

Yo My Peeps,

I got an offer to buy my Pantera this last week when we were in Nevada for the ORR.

After being it’s custodian for 35 years I am going to miss her. But happy it is going to a fellow ORR and track racer.

I could never have done what I did the last 25 years without all the support you guys and Laurie have offered.

I will keep coming back to SilverState and will ALWAYS support TPR but with no Pantera in my life or any plans to buy a replacement in the future we need to draft a new TPR  leader.

😂😂😂😀

Good Times.

Dennis & Dawg
