Mad Dog doesn't look dead but there he is in a Vette.   I do not now why my 08 Z1 wheel hops maybe it need to be hotter pavement for the tires.

That surprised me….. especially with mid engine. I drove a new friends C7 yesterday and stood on it…no wheel hops!

You can see how unhappy I am in the C7….you can share with the team and say you caught Mad Dawg Testing Corvettes out.Haha

I took my C8 out for some power runs after getting back from Cambodia and watching 8 minutes of top gun previews.  It had burnt tire still emanating and some cooling fans running even after shutting it off and driving a mile or so to get home. It was sweating!! I went zero to 73 mph hour 4 times in a row on river road behind my house.  It wheel hoped and after I eased of the launch and fully stuffed it again in second it would hop again even at 50ish in second but 70+ came up so damn fast i and Johnny was duly impressed.  The Z51 has the bigger and stickier rubber but it was evening with the sun starting to set and the weather was probably in the sixties.
I like river road because there is really no place for a cop to hide my only fear is a dear running out from above the hill in partial evening.  I also use the telephone poles as markers.  The KR could do standing start 80 mph between poles and I miss it so much I got my 2007 Shelby GTSC  (Shelby installed Whipple) to do it granted wheel spin is the trick.  I had to let it go down the road side ways for most of the way spinning to get the rpm to where it has to be where is the KR would do it straight burning rubber all the way to indicated 60 mph and the click the modified C6 to second where the speedo would instantly indicate a 20 mph jump to 80 and stay there.  I have an old friend that inheritated is dad's jewelry shop to witness these remarks buy the way.  He stop watched the KR 0-60 in under two seconds 3 times in a row back in the day too.  2 years ago he ordered a spercharged factory Camaro the LT1 I believe.  Back in the KR days he drove a Grand Am with the shaker hood, very rare never seen another.  We lived in Oak Harbor Washington on Whidbey Island.
So I am getting pretty happy with the C8 Z51 Vette.  It will kill.   ( I had it in sport mode no launch control, do not know how to use it yet.)
Several years ago a BMW passed me on river road, I was doing about 50 MPH and as he pulled in and a dear came from the hill and he nailed it.  I pulled up behind him.  I saw all the ABS smoke from discharging, pour out of the car as he rolled out onto the blacktop and ended up on the centerline dazed.  I rushed out and dragged him to safety as he was cussing all the way. (River road is narrow 2 lane) I figured he paid the price but some do-gooder 4 cars back called the cops and he got his ticket on top of the crash.

I am leaning towards the basic C8 (no Z51 etc etc). It can only still be a 1,000 years ahead of the PanteraHaha
