Good Morning My Peeps,

Supply chain issues have hit performance tire supplies hard this last couple years.

So no good news here but I got the tires I wanted even if they are old date codes.

I looked at Pirelli, Michelin, Continental, Toyo, and Dunlap options and for my new set I went with Pirelli Trofeo R’s although I had similar old date code issues with Goodyear F3 supercar, Toyo R-888R, and Michelin Sport Cup tire choices.

My final tire selection was the Pirelli Trofeo R’s…

245/40/18 for fronts
And
305/30/19 for rears

The tire inventory were all new (old) stock ranging from 1-2 years. My new front tires are date coded 11/20 and the rears are 7/21.

And don’t even ask about the price. But the best deal with heat cycling and delivery was TireRack (888-727-8092). Will verify again after I get the new tires delivered next week.

Spoke to Tire Rack 3 different times and the only guy there who went the extra mile on comparison tire choices and did all the research on tire options was named CHAD (Ext #4469).

I am sure there are other good tire distributor reps and hidden inventory out there I never spoke to but this was my experience over the last week.

I reached out to ALL the big tire distributors (Les Schwab, tire discounters, etc and even the Goodyear race tire distributor (Roger Krause) as well as all the discount tire folks.

So agree with Bjoern that depending on your tire needs between now and Sept. that you may have to consider tires 1-2 years old.

As I think about it this is NOT the first time I have had to deal with supply chain delays on tires for road racing but certainly it is the worst I can remember in 25 years. But it is what it is. Hearing BFG has been less affected by shortages so check with them as well.

Good luck. And please share with the rest of us if you find any gold I mean new tires for your Pantera or back up vehicle.
