I love that Pacific Coast, grew up with it

Most Rural folks everywhere are great

It is just The City politics that just suck in rural area’s

It is making its way here, but except for the big city Vegas, it’s not here yet.

I’ll be sure to remind anyone living in Portland or Seattle that you have a home for them 😊……but here in rural Oregon on the coast its still an awesome place to live….reminded daily by allot of smiling faces, American flags and if you hear a car horn it is usually accompanied by a wave back. No you need to move here slacker! Randy just down the road.

Good Times

Subject: Ballot Measure 114 - Dec 8 Update (OSSA)
To: kerry.spurgin at gmail.com <kerry.spurgin at gmail.com>

 Date: December 8, 2022
From: Kerry Spurgin, President, Oregon State Shooting Association (OSSA). Dear Kerry Spurgin - (c), (Addressed to present members of OSSA)
The Harney County decision for the stay on the entirety of BM114 will stand until the preliminary injunction hearing on Dec. 13, 2022.
Dec 7, PM — (Link 2) The Oregon Supreme Court late Wednesday afternoon denied a request by the state Department of Justice to review the Harney County’s judge’s decision to prevent enforcement of Ballot Measure 114. The court also ruled the Harney County suit to pause the gun control measure will stand. In their one-page decision, the justices gave no reasoning for their decision.

What this means is that the Harney County decision will stand until Dec 13 when the judge will decide if the preliminary injunction will be granted for the entirety of BM114.

Dec 7, The Oregon State Police have issued an update on their FB page... (Link) Oregon State Police launches new permit to purchase webpage December 8, 2022- Oregon. "An injunction [stay] has delayed the implementation of Ballot Measure 114." .... "The OSP’s Firearms Instant Check System (FICS) unit will continue to work to process and resolve the pended/delayed FICS transactions.” https://www.oregon.gov/osp/programs/cjis/Pages/Permit-to-Purchase-Program.aspx

Our NSSF/OSSA suit for preliminary injunction for the entirety of BM114 in federal court is still in motion and we will update on hearing dates as they are set.
The Oregon Sportsmen’s Coalition: OSSA/OASR continues to work with the Oregon Sportsmen Opposed to Gun Violence (let’s call it the Sportsmen’s Coalition) in their legal strategy and actions This group is comprised of key organizations that have the resources and experience to ensure success and effective results. Most notably in this group is the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF). The NSSF has retained very experienced counsel and has delivered its filing. The Sportsmen’s Coalition desires and, as possible, is working with the other groups to coordinate the filings for the best result. It’s important we work together and not torpedo each other’s efforts. The initial judgement and injunction actions were expected; however, we feel the subsequent filings after BM114 goes into effect will be the most critical to defeat this attack on Oregon citizens. What’s next? Stay tuned at our OSSA website and BM114 page for the latest posts. Please see our BM114 web page (www.ossa.org/bm114) for the latest information. We will try to keep it updated to keep you informed. What Can You Do?
