I would start out with BaT. There have been some really good sales
there, even of cars that you would never have thought would bring as
much money as they did. The thing about BaT is that a lot of the
comments can actually drive more bidding, and the bidding happens over
days, not minutes.
Was Monterey done by one of the big houses like Barret-Jackson or
Mecum? If not, then the cars most likely did not get any pre-sales
advertising or exposure. That would mean people specifically interested
in a Pantera most likely were not there, so it suffered from bidders who
were less interested, most likely second hand dealer who thought they
could turn it for a profit.
Stick with BaT to start with.
