I have so many FUBAR moments in my life I am not sure where to start but for this Good Friday here is one…

I came back from Nam latte ‘69 and quickly went thru a ‘66 GTO which I crashed while drunk and then a ‘67 GTO which in 73 in the midst of a oil embargo gas prices skyrocketed and since I was going to school I decided to sell it. 

Engine was burning oil pretty good but I still put it in the paper for a sale and a guy with a job immediately called the same day and  made an offer soon as he saw the GTO. It looked beautiful and I accepted soon as he offered with no haggling over price. We shook hands and he drove away with my GTO and as I recall sold it cheap at $1,000 bucks. Win win right?

About a week later he called to say the engine grenaded.  His first question was,

“Why did you have so much STP in the engine?”

My not too proud answer was 

“You never asked”

I offered him his money back but he said to forget it, he  took the blame and kept the GTO. 

Yea not too proud of that. But he did own it and for that I forgive myself
