Wota ya say Asa Master Wrench?Real men use Webers which is why I am using fuel injection…..😂
Gotta say though and Lee knows this as well i have never heard better tuned Webers either idling, in traffic or racing then Randy Grubbs Pantera. He said he will for sure be back to Ely next year to join us.

I have not decided on carb. Looking at
Holley 4150Holley XPDemon SPD750
Anyone have ideas?
My plan is to get the engine installed and running with my existing carb. Then head to a chassis dyno to get a reference and then swap carbs. So, I have some time :)

Absolutely awesome performance on the dyno. Thank you JB for sharing specifics so unselfishly.

You are the Man.

Share with us what Carb you are adding?

Before I went IR-EFI just adding a flowed and balanced  Holly (think it was 830cfm)  gained another 15-20 HP to my old 377ci Cleveland stroker on chassis dyno and more importantly for me drivability improved a great deal. I think the added money is worth it. You may not need it or want it but its worth a consideration.

It has taken a while, but I put together a list of parts for my engine.  The short of it is; you can use your stock block, crank, heads, flywheel, vibration dampener, Pantera headers and still fit it all under the screen while making over 500 HP and have great efficiency.

Attached is a plot and a table showing AFR and BSFC.  It is very efficient.  Less than 0.3 at some RPM's!!!  You can see the AFR is a little messed up but you can also see it in the HP plot around 4700.  The imbalance on each side is due to the carb.  I could not get a new carb delivered to the shop before it was removed from the dyno.

Stock Ford 4-bold main block

All cylinders sleeved, Melling sleeves, standard bore

Lifter bores bushed

Oil restrictor kit installed

Standard oil pump

Iwis (Germany) double roller timing chain and gears

Stock Ford 4-MA nodular iron crank

Flat top Racetech custom forged pistons, 10.5:1

Custom cam from Gromm Racing, 246/258 @ .050, 700 total valve lift, 112 LSA

Armondo 10-quart oil pan

Scat forged H-beam rods

Stock Ford flywheel, external balance

Stock Ford vibration dampener

Stock Ford 4V closed chamber iron heads, ported/flowed

Stainless roller rockers

Rocker stud girdles

Pushrod guideplates

Blue Thunder low profile dual-plane intake

Smallish collector Pantera headers

Holley 0-4778 700CFM carb (has some issues)

MSD ignition

91 octane pump gas

531HP, 477 ft/lb torque

Gromm Racing will sell this amazing cam if you have a similar build or can supply a complete engine.  Give Semir a call for the details
