This should give all of us pause. We all know the risks of racing but my daughter called to say her phone was blowing up last night from friends of news of a fishing. Boat lost at sea in Alaska.

As some of you know she has been commercially fishing in Alaska for last 4 years.

The boat out of Dutch Habor she fished on this summer “Scandias Rose” sunk at 10 pm last night.

5 crewman she all knew are missing and even with survival suits on finding them in the dark would be difficult at best unless they got into a life boat.

Apparently two of the crew did get into one but they are the only one known of right now.

Yea I am a thankful dad right now. Sorry for her loss but happy she chose not to stay on the boat for crab season this winter.
