Well, LF, IMHO the Ely party would be more fun if you attended. Otherwise it is a bunch of liars drinking JB's really fine tequila---not that there is anything wrong with that!

Hope I can make it. (Waiting on new car)

You guys are the best guys in the World! What would I do without you? Thank you all for your kind words. JB, you are a doll and If you took my engine and entire car I'm sure Arlan would hug and kiss you as he'd not have to bother with it anymore. MD would surely love blind fold me, tie me down in the seat belts and probably strangle me while at it for all the teasing and tormenting I've delivered. DA has the best idea of all, for me to go backwards... blindfolded and after some of his Rum ice cream sodas (a fb joke). And OCD (Other Crazy Dave; hmmm, interesting acronym.. haha) is correct in knowing it's not such a great idea afterall. Just know, I love you all whether I'm there at the race or just cheering you on from afar.
xo Always, Laurie

I personally think there should be some kind of penalty here. Laurie is the only (awesome) chick on the planet to start and finish the Silver State Classic in a supercharged Pantera yet she has not even shown up for many years. With that kind of world-wide fame, I propose after a certain amount of no-shows, she has to give that awesome engine to me! :) (Not sure what Arlan would say about that!)

Hiya Folks,
An interesting proposition has come my way. I'm not so sure I'm up to the challenge but I do like the incentives. If I should do this SSCC race, my proposed navigator has MANDATED that in order to take on this position he'd make me PROMISE to do the entire race with my eyes closed and ONLY drive by following instructions. That's hard for me in any circumstance but especially in this case as I'd be missing the lovely scenery of Ely, and Lund to Hiko. I'm self evaluating whether I'm brave and trusting enough for such an adventure, BUTTTT, if I agreed, I'd be sponsored by a company that would make my car a prototype with a specially designed alternator to convert my Pantera to a hybrid, keeping my Webers. Supercharger and all, and with even more HP. Plus, I'd have a greater chance of getting a trophy, using a NIST F2 atomic clock. This means, "Third time would be a charm" for me/us! But what good is all that if I expire from being yelled at for 90 miles and then miss the awards banquet???
I'll let you all know after I take some more time to consider this carefully.
p.s. But as there are probably no more decent rooms left, and not even sure the conversion could be done in time, I do believe I'm off the hook. Phewwww! ; Darn though, I want a HYBRID PANTERA.
