Asa Jay,
I will get our race engine specs (that we just built) from Ed Ash (Ash
Racing Components) and send them to you. We rebuilt your original Pantera
motor to FIA GR3 specs, which won't meet your requirements (too mild). The
race engine we built is based on a Windsor block with aluminum Cleveland
heads. I don't know the details of the build, other than it is sitting
just under 500 HP/500 ft lbs, and we run it in the 4000-6200 rpm range.
We will use the original motor for the "snooty" events and the race motor
for everything else. FYI -- we put a new Quaife transaxle in to handle the
extra HP of the race motor, and have rebuilt the original as well. So your
Pantera now has a completely rebuilt original #'s matching engine and
transaxle. But we are "racing" a Clevedor (Windsand????) with the new
Quaife.
Also, we will be at the SOVREN Columbia River Classic in a few weeks with
the Pantera if you (or others) are interested in coming out to say hi. We
are running the Lotus event on Friday, and may be able to get your son in
for a few laps.
Again -- thanks for selling me the car. We love it.
Regards,
Steven G. Lisa, Esq.
