[TPR] NEW SS ROOKIE - POCA PRESIDENT!!!

I forgot to mention - it was a Ford Motorsport block, brand new, so bored to pure stock diameter. Still went through all the usual magnaflux, blueprinting process though. If JB got a decent block to work on the same stuff has to be done.
And no JB, I am not a hater :-) 9 months is just excessive.
MD - I hope you are not going to do that R&R for May? That is cutting it close even for you :-)

That is impressive Irish....I have to say I have not had any bad engine work but this engine has not been out of the pantera for 8+ years. So hoping in next two weeks to get it in and let them know the deadline. Hearing from them 3 months max R &R even if they have to order custom pistons. Machine shop across the street. they are all racers.

Last one I did was a custom stroker 342 CID supercharged Ford :-) The block work took 2-3 days, the heads (port/polish on flow bench) about 2 weeks, the crank was brand new as were the rods, bearings, etc. The pistons were very custom in order to handle long rods and the stroker bit :-) from parts into shop to running motor was less than a month...
Of course I paid a premium to get it through quickly but it was worth it to me :-)

8-9+ months to do a block is beyond reasonable, and the last time I got custom pistons (and rods) they were a several week thing. Something is not right with that shop IMHO.

How many years ago was that slick? 😂
Good shops always are backlogged and JB needed custom Pistons too

In June? And still not done? Hell I never had more than 2 weeks on any block I ever had done and that was even with stroker clearance notches, sleeves, etc. I think your shop needs a fire lit under their fundament :-)

I'll be there, I think. I dropped my block off at the shop in early June and it's still not done. I hope the shop didn't flood last night! 😳. Too dang wet out here on the wrong coast JB

Now all we need is for JB & Peter to run their Panteras and we will have a Pantera Team.

Hey Team - the new POCA president (Gerry) is planning to bring his Pantera to SS in September and is bringing the only guy who ever finished an ORR with a turbo charged Cleveland in a Pantera (Dave Doddek)...if you are POCA member Gerry wrote a nice Presidents Message for February mentioning his interest in SS and plan to go this year....since then I have been encouraging him to join us and he is pumped up for the challenge. Yea told him he needs a TPR tat too but said nothing about Green Lantern LOL
