Good morning TPR SSCC racers (and wannabees),
We are three weeks away from running on the fastest highway in the US. As Bjoern points out, you need to double-check the date codes on your tires, your harnesses and your helmet. Also remember you CAN'T use tires that have been used on the track (unless they were only run in the Rookie School). Any track event tires must be replaced in order to run the SSCC. Ask us how we know.
We have Mad Dawg and JB nearing completion. I've not heard formally from Mark but I imagine he is nearly ready. Three weeks to go.
I will be flying in to Fresno to play pit crew with the Dawg again this year. We'll be driving to Ely Thursday with arrival sometime around 1700 to 1800 or earlier if all goes well.
Steve, yes you can race pretty much anything on four wheels. Fire extinguisher, good tires date-coded within three years, stock seat belts (Touring class) or race harneses, no leaks, SA2015 helmet (I think this is the last event SA2010 will still be accepted, check the rule book), the rest is pretty easy. If interested, let us know early and maybe Mad Dawg can put in a good word to help waive rookie school (save a couple hundred, unless you want to run on the track for a few laps).
Read the rule book.
We have a good time. We try to stay out of trouble but hey..... they let Corvettes into the event... whatta ya gonna do? >;)
Right boys, time to wind 'em up.
Bjoern, looking forward to seeing you again. Diablo or Vector this time around?
Asa Jay
