Dear Dennis,

 

 

                I just read Bob Riley's biographical book:   The Art of Race
Car Design.     I highly recommend it.   Among other things, he would often
improve the downforce on various racing cars with the simple expedient of a
flat piece of sheet metal that sealed and smoothed the airflow beneath the
car.  (He also created much more effective and complicated under body shapes
that improve downforce).  

 

 

               Back in your salad days with the Brazilian Bikini Team and
various ORR wins in the high speed classes, I recall that you did have some
aero mods on your Pantera.   Did you have the underside sealed and smoothed?
