before you have to sacrifice your nuts on a burning fire and
bloodlet your manhood in the US presidential election (assuming
you'll be able to stomach the experience)).

Subject: 2016 Team Pantera Racing - Award
Nominations
Hey all you race proven slackers and slacker
wannabees.
It's time for the 2016 TPR award nominations.
A reminder of what they are:
The Gary Hall Memorial Award
This honor is awarded to the Team Pantera
Racing member who shows outstanding support and
dedication to both the DeTomaso marque and the
TPR team. It is someone who is not afraid to
push the limits of technology utilizing both old
and new part and who participates in racing
events in a continuing effort to preserve the
driving heritage of the Pantera.
Ellis Woumnm Memorial Iron Man Award
This honor is awarded to the Team Pantera
Racing member who shows stamina in the face of
overwhelming odds. They are someone who has
worked hard against deadlines, parts shortages
and other difficulties in order to participate
in an Open Road Racing event with Team Pantera
Racing. The honoree selected must successfully
finish the race and not disqualify. They must
show team spirit and a dedication to preserving
the heritage of the DeTomaso Pantera.
Sweet Old Bill Award for Selfless Giving
his honor is the only award given by Team
Pantera Racing to non-members (in addition to
members) and is a reflection on SOBills spirit
of giving to the Pantera community. Nominees
come from a list of those individuals who have
unselfishly provided free assistance to TPR
members and other Pantera owners in the spirit
of "paying the favor forward." These favors come
in many forms and are highlighted by efforts to
provide sound counsel, technical advice, parts
or services in a free and friendly manner that
improve the Pantera ownership experience for
everybody, with no other expectation than you
passing on the knowledge or help to the next
person who may need it.
Last year, the 2015 awards went to:
Iron Man - Asa Jay Laughton
Gary Hall Memorial - Bob Radefeld
SOBill Award - Paul Katchadourian
This year saw the following racers and
non-race team members:
- Mark Skwarek - Pantera
- Bob Radefeld - Pantera
- Bud Hower - Pantera
- Frank Cirrincione - Pantera
- Dennis Antenucci - Pantera
- Paul Katchadourian - Viper (yes, a Viper, at
least it has a "P" in the name)
- Peter Menyhart (SSCC crew)
- Asa Jay Laughton (SSCC crew)
My nominations are as follows (and remember,
I'm the President, and this isn't a democracy)
;)
Iron Man - Dennis Antenucci, for overcoming
some interesting obstacles in his preparation
for the race this year. Somehow he managed to
overcome them all, either on his own or with the
enthusiastic help of others, making the race,
passing tech and finishing a respectable last
place at the fastest speed in his class.
Besides, he hasn't had a team award in a while
and this year I think he deserves this one.
Gary Hall - Tough call here, Paul has been
very supportive of the entire team the past
three years. But he drives a Viper, which
breaks the rules. So my second nomination would
be for Mad Dawg. Can we give two awards to the
same person in one year? Is this Team Pantera
Racing? Heck YES we can! If we want to, we
CAN. And if we can do -that-, then we can give
it to Paul, even if he does drive a Viper.
Besides, this is mob rules. So what does the
mob have to say on this one?
SOBill - Peter Menyhart, for his selfless
sacrifice of time and effort to attend the SSCC
each year in nothing more than a capacity to
help out with his expertise. It also helps that
he can drive a tow rig and trailer to the finish
line on the morning of the race, giving the
racers one less thing to worry about. Peter has
been preparing his next Pantera to race and each
year he's a little closer. Maybe next year
he'll make it.
There you have it. Nominations will close on
Wednesday October 5. Then we have voting by a
select few individuals, who may or may not have
been bribed.
Asa Jay
PS. Nominations are now open for President.
Nominations will stay open for about an hour so
hurry up.
