Bob,
Just shy of 145mph – 5000 rpm in 4th!
Car in photo is Dennis Quella’s tube frame car with a NASCAR motor.
Cheers,

David,
Looks like it would be a fun event! Whose car is that in the picture? Must have a built engine & higher gearing in the transaxle? BTW, you didn't mention what your car ran? Having lived in Colorado while @ Fort Carson when in the Army I definitely found out how higher altitude effects a cars' performance!! :o(( Thanks for sharing your adventure with us......................

Labor Day weekend found me at the Colorado Mile event east of Denver, hoping to have the fastest Pantera. Sigh . . .
Had a nice chat with Adam Quella and met some other interesting Ford folks – how about a 200mph Ford GT with no turbos?
Seems the altitude sucked a lot of power out of the normally aspirated folks? My friend Carl ( http://www.carsbycarl.com/ ) came by to help me out, with Carl’s encouragement we got an extra 3mph out of the old yellow car.
Car shown below ran a 186+, which I believe is the fastest Pantera mile? Only a couple of mph over Darrell’s best run at Mojave.
Rubber side down!
