Hi all,
Mark Skwarek's donated carb showed up last night. It needs a good
tanking and rebuild kit put through it.

It's a Holley list 3310-2 3635
An interesting tid-bit is that it's not a stock 3310-2 anymore. At some
point in it's life, someone has added a secondary metering block from a
3310-1. The -2 comes with a metering "plate" which is a solid plate
that fits fully inside the fuel bowl and is pre-calibrated for jet sizes
(there are no jets). The throttle body of course is still all Holley
capable of taking metering blocks on both ends.

In this case, the "plate" was removed and a 7003 33101 metering block
(from a -1 carb) was installed. This metering block unfortunately
doesn't have the extra mixture screws to make it a fully four-corner
idle adjust, but it -does- give the option of easily changing secondary
jets -and- has a second power valve.

The unfortunate thing (not that it's all bad) is that the rebuild kit
for the -2 will only do half the carb, and the -1 kit is over three
times the price of the -2 kit (it contains several power valves,
accelerator pumps, about a dozen different jets etc. for "tuning" which
I don't really need as I have most of those other go-faster items from a
previous Holley tune kit I bought years ago. All I need extra are the
gaskets and the power valve which can be had separately for a few dollars.

If anyone has anything they'd like to add to help me make sure the
rebuild is the best it can be, please let me know.

I've not received the rack yet but expect to probably tomorrow as it
left Federal Way, Washington early this morning. It's probably waiting
for me at the post office right now. :)

In other news... I got the rear brakes finished on the F250. However,
the ABS light still flashes. ARGH! So, during my brake bedding run I
noticed it's flashing a -code-. Code 16 to be precise. So I go look it
up in the shop manual. Hmmm... code 16 means the ABS is working as
expected. < and the scientific world goes "boink!" >

I guess that means it's working as expected but for some reason the
system is being triggered to pass the codes. I'll have to look for the
odd jumper in the right connector somewhere. Either that or the ABS
computer needs to be replaced. <sigh. But the brakes work good!
