[TPR] Car Show day

And today, after Church we head out to that other car show we were
invited to yesterday.

This show was much closer and had a lot more classics from the late 60's
and early 70's. A 1967 Shelby Cobra replica, a Road Runner Superbird, a
smattering of other Mopar beauties, some Chevelles; the typical crowd.

Again, we let plenty of folks, both young and old, take their turn in
the drivers seat of the Pantera just to get the thrill of sitting in the
car. Smiles were had all afternoon.

The thrill for me was meeting an older gentleman who used to work on the
special projects line at Ford Dearborn. Yea! Today he's just a
snowbird traveling on motorcycles, but he told me stories of working on
engines for the GT40 and other programs. The saddest moment was when he
said they'd switch over to new inventory; he and a security guy would
take out thousands of dollars worth of engine parts, usually heads that
had been specially machined and scrap them using a hammer to physically
make them non-usable. He had been admiring the Pantera for quite a
while, especially the engine and that's when I struck up the
conversation. He just wanted to get a bit melancholy for the old days.

And to top it off, we found out from one of the other participants
today, that we actually won a trophy at the car show -yesterday-. We
had to leave that show early, before the awards. I never figured on
winning a trophy. I'll find out tomorrow what it was; probably a third
or second place in our class maybe.

Sam had a good time too.

>> It rained on they way and sprinkled on us during setup but soon the rain stopped and we were able to towel off the rides. While there, we were invited by a grandmother with two Autistic kids to come show our Pantera at another show tomorrow after Church. Spreading Autism awareness one car show at a time.
